The New York Yankees do not win the World Series every year.
The Pittsburgh Steelers do not win the Super Bowl every year.
In the world of professional sports, it is a business.  Not
so much a true sport, as the players are paid to do a job
as opposed to a group of players competing against another
group of players for the sheer enjoyment of playing the game.
The owners make a fortune.  The players make a fortune.  The
television networks make a fortune.  The paying public hopes
to get entertained.

No way the Cincinnati Bearcats could play with Tim Tebow and the Big
Boys of the Florida Gators.  A total trashing was what Tebow gave them
in the Sugar Bowl.  But then, that was a college football game, not a
professional football game.

In college ball, there is a huge difference between the Big Boys
and the wannabes.  In professional football, there is much less
of a difference in the caliber of teams.  On any given Sunday even
the worst team can beat the best team.

The owner of the New Orleans Saints is a multi-millionaire, in one
of the smallest media markets in the USA.  Unlike other owners of
an NFL franchise, the Saints owner owns 100% of the team, having
to share the profits with nobody.  On top of that, he gets basically
free rent of the Superdome, a large share of concessions, and other
goodies, all courtesy of Louisiana taxpayers.  Whenever he wants
more money from the state, he threatens to move the team to Texas
or California or someplace else.  Of course, when the owner talks,
the governor of Louisiana listens.  And obeys.
