RW> YEp, that's true. I'm wondering if my thoughts on the quiet zone
RW> Dale mentioned weren't to do with emissions elsewhere spectrum-wise.

Couldn't be, since the portion of spectrum shared with radar and
radio-telescope operation is in the 420-450 MHz band.

 RW> was in. Their loss.

B4 leaving California for Texas, I sold the Motorola with everything in
the box for 3x more than I paid for it...due to it's location on a 5600'
mountain top and the ability to radiate more power if the new owner wanted
to go there. Since then, the So CA Repeater frequency allocation entity
has changed up the band-plan to 20 KHz channel spacing, giving more room
to new stations. What was 449.125 is now 449.120 and my friend Monty's
449.350 is now either 449.340 or 449.360...here in Texas, those are input
freqs with the outputs 5 MHz down. And no place to put them on this flat
ground, unless you know a tower owner.

RW>>> Whatever Pave Paw is/was, it was discussed over 5 years ago in some

RW> YEp, noted that. Quite interesting, that's kind of waht I
RW> thought I recalled, but it's been awhile.

Curiosity got the better of me and so I looked it up. In San Diego, you
just put up with the Navy radar installations or went to a different band.
VHF repeaters are a dime a dozen there and so are the 220 and 440
repeaters now.
