If the USSR had lost its military plants the Soviet people would have been like
American Indians who had vast lands, but poor weapon. Hitler, BTW, had no plans
to capture all the USSR's territory. He wanted to oust Russians to Siberia, and
after that the only thing he had to do was flying over the woods and destroying
any plants that could make weapon. No doubt, that at this stage Hitler would
have been accompanied by Japan which pointed at the Far East.

I am just trying to pay attention on some facts that many people prefer do not
note. For instance, let's take the battle for Leningrad and the battle for
Stalingrad. For me it is absolutely clear, that the names of these cities were
crucial for their survival. Each of these battles was a key event in the WW2.
The main reason why Leningrad was so fiercely defended was an ideological one
-- the city was called after Lenin, it was the cradle of Revolution in 1917. It
just could not be surrendered, and no one calculated the recourses and victims
that were necessary to keep the city afloat.

The same we can see in the Stalingrad battle. If this city had had another name
(his former name, BTW, sounded like the city of Tsarina), it could not have
become the center for such a fierce and huge battle. People of those times went
to attack crying "For Motherland! For Lenin! For Stalin" It is even ridiculous
to think that the tsarist Russia could have defeated Hitler in the WW2. The WW1
showed clearly that the Russian troops had a very poor motivation to fight.
That's why a huge territories of Russia after WW1 had been captured by Poland
and Romania.

We must understand that the events that happened after the WW2 between the West
and the Soviet block ought not to dim the feat of the Soviet people who
defended, as they believed, a radiant future of the world. They really saved
the world. As for their deeds after the war... Well, how many thousand people
were killed or burnt on stake by the Catholic Church? But now people understand
that those crimes had been committed rather according the human nature than
according to the idea those people followed.
