That may be.  But Cajun French is a separate, distinct language.
Even though it is heavily based on French - the French spoken in
gay Paris.  I have a Cajun French dictionary (written by an elderly
priest), along with a few French dictionaries, and consort with
those dictionaries when necessary.  A new Cajun French dictionary
has just been published, "Louisiana French", which I have yet
to purchase.  That dictionary was ten years in the making, and
includes all regional attributes of the language as spoken in
Louisiana.  And it is still being updated today, as new words
and phrases become known.

Cajuns have a word describing politicians and other fools.
We call them "fou fou".  No dictionary necessary to translate
that word.  :)
