You (meaning the USA) has abandoned the "We the People" the moment the
constitution was signed because the people cannot be consulted about every
aspect of running the country on a daily basis. That is the reason why you
elect legislators, representatives, people who you trust for the next 4 years.
 
It is amazing that the "We the People" and the interference of the authorities
in every aspect of private life is not considered a problem, the snoping on
what you do via debit/credit cards, the compiling of your every single move,
cross-referencing of your telephone calls with everyone else in the US and with
whomever they can obtain the records of anywhere else in the world, your
financial operations, your purchases at WalMart up to the point that the color
and scent is recorded of the toiletpaper which you use with someone
procatinating over it if this profiles you as a terrorist.
 
"We the People" has been abandoned the moment it was signed. Now it is only of
symbolical value and a political tool being used to deny the poorest of the
poor access to quality healthcare.
 
Indeed, shame on you (meaning the people not having enough common humanitarian
sense to approve such a measure).
 
"We the People" has been of no importance in:
 
* The invasion of Iraq                  <<<--+
* The undeclared war in Vietnam              !
* The US's activities in Nicaragua           !     ???
* The toppling of Allende in Chile           !
* The support of the Sha regime in Iran      !
* The support of the regime of Sadam Hussein-+
 
... the list is endless ... the only times when "We the People" is put on the
banners is when it is important for some dark political motive, not when the
People from "We the People" would benefit from it.
 
Better get used to the idea that any consitution is a mere bit of paper that
will be used and abused by those elected in office by the people. If a
constitution is abused, in the end it's the people's responsibility.
