Got you mixed up with one of the other's in here that lives "over there".

The apparatus AND the government itself. We have agencies that have long since
served their purpose (if they ever managed that) but they are still around. We
have civil servants who are guaranteed a pension for life if they put in 20 or
30 years of government service. Many of the agencies populated by these
servants of the people spend more time fighting for their slice of the budget
pie and trying to justify their existance (often by creating a need for them
where there was none) than they do fulfilling the purpose they were created
for.

This is what many of us want no more of and what many of us see this "health
care reform" as simply more of. Perhaps if going into government service meant
the forfeiture of one's right to vote some of that could be addressed.  It's
hard to fix things when people continue to vote for whoever will continue their
entitlements. The same for anyone on welfare or other government aid, until
they are working, paying taxes, and contributing to the nation their right to
vote should be forfeit.

I don't think the military is as much the free ride as the various civil
services in the rest of the government sector. The military at times serves a
purpose, much of the rest of our government does not.

I don't think we depend on our military for that here, I'm pretty sure as far
as our government goes we have no plan to take care of our unemployment rate
which is also what has so many of us pissed off about this health care reform.

Over a year was spent on that and I feel much of it was so the Democrats could
relive the 60's and "do something historic." The saddest part is how it has
divided our country even more than it already was. Democrats or Republicans
doesn't really matter, they both lie and are only concerned with maintaining
the party not the people or the nation. With all the "well Bush did this" or
"what about when the Republicans tried to" comments we've had whenever anyone
criticizes Obama very few of those people stop to realize that had the
Republicans tried to do this we would have never heard the end of it, the media
would have been crucifying them from day one and there is no way it would have
been allowed to be their focus for over a year with all the other problems we
have at the moment. It should not have been allowed to be the Democrats focus
for as long as it was either.
