This plan, at this stage, sadly is nothing like our European friends' health
plan.  As it's been said, "As no less a conservative authority than The Wall
Street Journal editorial page observed last week, the bill's prototype is the
health care legislation Mitt Romney [a Republican, remember? jk] signed into
law in Massachusetts. It contains what _used_ to be considered Republican

Your fears are unfounded.

And how many of those 300 million will finally get insurance?

But it doesn't matter, Bob.  All this phooey and foot-stomping _isn't_ about
the health care bill finally.

It's about a changing America, and that smaller number of people who now have
less of a handle on how to control it since their party is out of the
limelight.

What do you think all these 'protests' are about?  They aren't about
healthcare..  the ideas esposed are nothing near what was "promised" and
nothing near what we need.  Wiser men than me have seen this and written about
it.. noting:

or climate change, we would have seen the same trajectory. The conjunction of a
black president and a female speaker of the House- topped off by a wise Latina
on the Supreme Court and a powerful gay Congressional committee chairman -

Frank, Lewis and Cleaver - none of them major Democratic players in the health
care push - received a major share of last weekend's abuse [threats, window
smashing, etc. jk]. When you hear demonstrators chant the slogan "Take our
country back!", these are the people they want to take the country back from."

I say go for it.. just like President Obama did.  The likelihood of that
happening now is remote, and those frustrated people know it.

Not the doctors I know.. my neurologist's son is computer programmer - not by
his dad's choice.  His son didn't want the hassle.  His dad still complains
about the fact that his son refused to go into the medical field.  On the other
hand, a family doctor in the town I grew up in had TWO of his children join the
Medical field as surgeons... so you tell me how that is..
