I remember my grandmother Witt's large tom cat jumping off of a dining
room chair onto the back of my Great-grandfather Witt's Yellow Lab and
riding him outside through the screen door. I was about 9 then and was
told afte that by my G-mother that it wasn't the first time.

When I lived in Seattle, a friend of mine had a big yellow cat that liked
to sleep on the front porch, taking in some sunshine. He told me that two
dogs were wondering down the other side of the street when they saw the
cat on the porch. They came across the street and up the 3 or 4 steps
after the cat, but he was so sly that he lay there until they were almost
on top of him. He then jumped up and they passed him, sliding into the
door. On their attempted escape, the cat blocked their passage and they
went over the porch rail to avoid him.
