We don't have a president in Australia. However, like their president, I doubt
that I'm going to get within touching distance of Australia's political leader.

They don't take it from my bank account, they actually put it in there.

Only when in other countries. I leave it in the cupboard here. However, when
driving I am supposed to carry my driver's licence. Currently that is fairly
low tech, some written words and a photo. Soon we are supposed to be getting
"smart-chipped" licences.

They do that when I check out the goods anyway. The checkout is computerised
(barcode scanning and all that) and when I pay by plastic they know who I am.

More likely they don't care. Australians aren't anywhere near as paranoid as
the average USAmerican seems to be.

I'm sure that Aussies are more sceptical about what they're fed too -
Superstitious belief seems to have a greater hold in USA (it's even printed on
their currency).
