By the same reasoning I might argue that it can not be understood why in this
day and age of binkp connections those downlinls need their host to forward
messages. Why don't they just deliver them themselves to wherever they want
their host to deiver them?

In this day and age of binkp, delivering as close as posible to the destination
is the best, independent of the host willing to forward or not.

Sorry Bob, but a host has no obligation to route outgoing mail. You don't have
to like it, but those are the rules of the game.

You are just guessing.

But what if it were?

P4 explicitly allows for routing for some but not for all. one does not need to
give a reason for allowing the one and denying the other. A political reason is
as valid as any other reason. Such as "I don't like you" or "you are not
white".

So does mine. In transit mail landing on my system - does not happen very often
- will be forwarded to any destination in Fidonet. (if technically possible).
But I have no obligation outside my own net. So if I decide tomorrow that I
will no longer do it - for all or for some - then there is nothing anyone can
do about it.

Those are the rules of the game.
