First of all...I never mentioned any publcations. By the way...I never even
heard of `Nature'. As I already indicated, it sounds like a German nudie
magazine. You just threw the `name' out there without explaining *what* it
denoted.

And...aside from your notion that some publication called "Nature" is the last
word in `settled climate science', there are other, far more accessable
publications, I'm sure. Printed in english, even.


In any case...just because some scientists publish in various publications
around the world, doesn't make them the last word on ANY subject; the world's
climate least of all.


By the way...were you aware that the Sun is going throuh some very violent
activity right now? Its blowing off vast quantities of material out into space
right now.


From a 2004 publication of the Max Planck Institute for Solar Research
(Kaltenburg-Lindau, Germany), I find that the Sun has gone into an activity
cycle not seen in at least 8000 years!


In fact...they date the current cycle of high Solar activity from around 1940,
and recent methods of study have allowed scientists to extend the length of
time studied, back to 11,400 years ago; which puts it back to the end of the
last Ice Age!


It gets better:


The `average' temperature of our Sun at the surface, given a normal stellar
`life'...should be just around 5000 degrees C. But above that it rises to as
much as 27,800 degrees C.


Even many scientists involved in the study of Solar activity (which, by the
way, drives most of our weather patterns) admit that the time from about 1610,
when systematic records of Solar activity began to be kept, to today, is a far
too short a time length for anything really solid to be deduced from the data.


It is indicated, however, that the Sun `shines' brighter in this day and time,
than it did 8000 or more years ago.


Also...it has been determined by Solar researchers that Solar activity has
remained at a constant high level since around 1980 (which is about the time
all this `global warming crap began to emerge).


You will note that the info above is from a *German* publication witha highly
respected reputation.


Another thing;


It turns out that sea levels have been `rising' steadily for about the last
150 years! Which sort of pre-dates the kick-off of the `Industrial
Revolution'!


And its caused...NOT by anything MAN is doing or HAS done...but by a
continuing melting of the ice sheets which began over 17,000 years ago!


And the *rise* is a big 3mm or so per year!


There is no evidence whatever to support Al Gore's claim that sea levels will
rise by at least 20 by the end of the present century. Thats bunk. Nonsense.
All that lies in the realm of `speculation'...and has NO scientific facts to
back it up. None!


According to a study made of that notion...it is based on a complete
misunderstanding of what makes the sea levels rise and fall. It `rises' in
some parts of the world...and `falls' in other parts of the world. Its level
in various places also depend on what the land itself is doing (tectonics).


I've said this before...but I'll say it again;


There were good reasons why ancient peoples did NOT live right up on coast
lines, or certain parts of the lands they inhabited. Because their ancestors
had learned from hard experience that, sometimes, living in those areas is
DANGEROUS! I doubt it took too many hurricane seasons to teach ancient peoples
along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, that once every several years
a `heap-big-wind' come....blow village away! Kill many people!


So, they lived quite a ways inland, where it might get a high wind storm, but
the damage was a lot less and nobody got hurt.


Ask me to tell you about the San Diego River sometime.
