Well, if he were a sysop, he'd probably be more prolific than he is as a
user. Thus, the tidbits of what he posts would inundate what you would
like to see. OTH, he probably has a life outside of Fidonet, just like
everyone else does and goes about that during his day.


BTW, yesterday and the day before I spent at the shooting range. The day
before I was going to shoot my newly aquired AR-15 (can't have one of
these in Canada, NYS or the Garbage state), but I had forgotten that they
only acccept cash, so I had a choice of just hanging around or going back
to town for the $10 needed to shoot.

The next day I made a trip to the bank to withdraw some cash, stopped to
have my favorite Tex/Mex breakfast (Thursdays are out for TexMex breakfast
anyway) and stopped to visit my friend's gun shop on the way. Once there I
had to set up shop and answer all of the questions everyone had about my
new AR...See, I had put it together like I build PCs; one part at a time
from the best components I can find.

The barrel req'd me to break it in; clean it, fire it one time, clean it,
fire it one more time, clean it, fire 2 rounds, clean it, then I got to
shoot it 5 times in a row, clean it again and then, load up 10 rounds and
shoot those before cleaning it again. The cleaning is meant to remove the
traces of copper and that is req'd to clean off any burrs, etc., from the
rifling made during manufacture.

Once broken in, I loaded 20 rounds and pumped them into the target,
perhaps a second or so between shots. I reload my own ammo, so I spent
some time looking through the piles of brass cartridges, collecting my
own and packing them away for the trip home.

And yet, I still had some time to read Fidonet each day...today is an off
day for me, but I do have that antenna project setup in my mill. And I
need to re-machine the pocket of my 2nd AR so that the barrel lugs will
fit it like the factory expected me to do in the first place. Then it's on
to the third AR after I modify the jig I made to hold the first two for
machining.
