a contradiction.

In response to what? If these instructions were given in response to a netmail
requaet, then obviously Ward *is* able to send netmail to the *C accepting
applications.

You are changing the tune from "unable to sen netmail" to "not followed the
instructions".

Then it is Bob's word against Ward's because Ward told me yesterday that he
*did* sent a formal application.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here. Ward is not asking for a Z1 AKA for
his system in Belgium. He is asking a node number for the autonomous system
that he is running in Montana.

Of course one should not have AKA's for one and the same system in every zone,
region or net. But if there is an autonomous system physically located in
another net, region or zone, why should a node number dedicated to that
systembe denied? If it is capable of sending and receiving netmail?

Curiousity is a good thing. Many good things have come from it. OTOH,
curiousity got the cat.

Removing the idiocy factor will kill Fidonet. Excluding idiots from getting a
nodenummer means that no new node numbers will be issued any more. Anyone
requesting a Fidonet node number now is an idiot. There are dozens of
alternatives that are far more attractive, efficient and user friendly than
Fidonet.

I know for a fact tha Ward can sent netmail to Bob S. And by now you should
know it too.

So what it boils down to is tat it is Bob's word against Ward's.

But now tha you mention it: where in policy doed it say tha an application for
a node number may not be routed?
