Why should there be an "election" when all you have to do is wave
your magic wand and annoint the person of your choice as being echolist
keeper (or whatever other position you want a flunky to fill).

Every sysop (and most non-sysops) know that no election is necessary.

That would be Ross Cassell, who updates the MEMORIES echo for the
moderator of record, and the moderator of the COOKING echo (whoever
that is).

Björn Felten had already updated the FIDONEWS echo years ago, and
remains editor/moderator of the FIDONEWS today.  As such, there has
been no need to update the FIDONEWS echo, as that responsibility
will belong to whoever Björn Felten chooses to appoint as being
the next editor/moderator of the FIDONEWS.

Two moderators in Z1 are of little consequence in the world of fidonet.
Whether they acted as individuals (most likely) or as a group (doubtful)
does not really matter.  Well, maybe to you.  But not to most others. :)
