But you are right about that part. It /might/ be. There actually was one in
Germany in the late ninetees. Hunt for 'Steigarts par GSM" in the nodelist
archives.

The difference between Europa an the USA is that in Europe cell phones numbers
have distinctive prefixes. In the Netherlands the cell phone numbers all start
wit 06. In Germany with 016 or 017. In Europe the cost of the call is for the
caller. The caller pays for the "air time" to a cell phone. And he knows that
because of the distinctive prefix. In the US the caller has no easy way to
tell. So he just pays for the call to the area where the numner is registered.
It is the receiver of a mobile phone that pays for the "air time".

In the US a sysop would think twice to run a node on a cell phone. Because he
pays for every incoming call. IOW, he has no control over his cost. Technically
possible, cost wise a nono.
