Only one problem there. The company is based in the USA and has to abide by US
law. Using the same argument as you do above, it would be legal for a Dutch
company to bribe officials in, say, the middle east to gain lucerative
contracts because such bribery is not illegal there (a German company that did
such a thing would be committing a crime punishable in Germany). The server
location is uninteresting - it could be located in Timbuktu for all you know.

Now, if this had been an exclusively Swedish company, bound by Swedish law,
with no business interests outside the country, the situation might have been
different. But that wasn't the case.

Tough luck, but companies have their own policies. You won't get very far
complaining to German Telekom either, if they suddenly decide to deny you
service and that right is mentioned somewhere in their business conditions.

Copyrighted pictures, Michiel. That was the problem. There was a complaint and
that was that. That can happen to you with a lot of providers, and not only of
DNS services.

I can understand the irritation, but don't assume this is something that can
only happen in the States or with an American company. It can happen to you
anywhere.
