I received my information directly from Tim Richardson.
I call that "first hand" information.

The fidonews echo, like most other fidonet echos, is a public echo
allowing for both read and write access for all participants - not
just some or even most.  You seem to have a problem with that.

There is a small group of kontrol freaks who control zone 1.
Not all individuals who reside inside that region are willing
to kiss their behinds.

In other words, you chose go become a censor of fidonet, going
against the wishes of the recognized moderator of this echo, who
has publicly stated in the rules of this echo that all who wish
to participate be granted both read and write access -

Availability:

Every sysop is encouraged to make this echo available to any user,
that's interested in reading and writing in it.

In so doing, you lower yourself to the lowest of the low, becoming
a kontrol freak yourself - no different than those in zone 1.

It doesn't matter what you think.  Censorship is censorship.
Anywone, and I mean anywone, who wishes to participate in this
echo should be granted full read and write access - in due
accordance with the moderator's wishes, as noted in the rules
of this echo.  You failed the test, in spades.

You are not the moderator of this echo.  It was not your decision
to make.  The only decision that was yours was whether to allow, or
not to allow, an individual to access your system.  That is your
right as an individual, not as a sysop, as your system is your
own property to do with as you please.

It is about censorship.

What happened is you became a censor of fidonet, refusing
to abide by the wishes of the moderator of this echo.

Such truth spoken to power.  Hurts, doesn't it?
