That would be like 2 weeks and 1 day ago.
 
Electronic-stores e.g. these days have add-ons for smartphones with a
magnetic-stripe reader, that is how a lot of airlines handle on-board
electronic transactions ... via an iPhone with a 2x1.5cm magnetic stripe
reader.

Plus the lack of security that comes with it, identity theft, etc...
 
My debit card cannot be used in the USA, however in Canada it is ok, because of
security lapses. As for credit cards, whenever I travel to the US I need to go
to my bank and open the service for the US for a maximum of 3 months. My first
transaction then preferably is via an ATM operated by a bank to authenticate
the card. After 3 months, the card is switched-off again to protect the owner.
 
One day I made a purchase in Alaska and promptly got a phone-call to
authenticate that it was me using the card.
