I'm not gay.  And I doubt the NYT is either.  Although
the journalist who wrote the piece might be.  The editor
of the newspaper did choose to run with the story, though.
So at least one person must have believed it to be true.

We live in different times today.  Back then, people who
were gay or lesbian had to keep quiet.  Especially public
figures.  Imagine the horror what would have gone through
peoples minds if a US president admitted he was gay.  It
was bad enough for folks to have suspicions, such as how
many people felt about President Buchanan (he was single,
with no girlfriend).

The Buchanan presidency split the Democratic Party, which
led to the election of the first woman president in American
history, Honest "Babe" Lincoln.  Her twin brother (Abraham)
had died in childbirth, and she devoted her entire life to
serve others as a means of keeping his memory alive.

There are sound recordings of Lincoln that prove beyond the
shadow of a doubt that she was a woman.  No man could possibly
have such a high-pitched voice and not gotten himself shot in
the process by an army of men holding loaded weapons.  And
look at the pictures of her.  No adam's apple!  Have you ever
seen a man with no adam's apple?  C'mon!  Get real!  High
cheek bones, arched eyebrows, and no adam's apple.  All are
dead giveaways.  Along with the fake beard.

Of course she had help.  From her lover.  A Southern actor,
who understood how to properly apply make-up, as well as how
to present oneself in public.  We know this, for a fact, as
John Wilkes Booth is known to have given at least two private
performances for Lady Lincoln at the White House.

After Babe Lincoln was executed, her body was placed in a
coffin, the lid closed, and she was never seen again.  Mary
Todd went nuts and had to be committed to an insane asylum.
Her lover (Booth) fled to Mexico, where he lived out the
rest of his days.  His body was then returned to Texas, as
his lawyer had demanded payment for services rendered.  The
body was then stuffed and sold to a traveling circus, which
put it on display for those willing to pay a small fee.

The stuffed body of John Wilkes Booth was last seen in
Philadelphia in 1977, when the CIA is rumored to have stolen
it and put it in a place where the sun don't shine.

President Jimmy Carter will neither confirm nor deny the events
of this story as being true.  But he does admit to having seen a
UFO.
