More money in their pocket means more money for them to spend.

Most people spend money rather than save money.  After all, that
is what money is for.  Spending.  Thing about it.  You can't take
it with you when you leave this place.  So we might as well use
it while we are here.

 AP> Just like every time our minimum wage increases the price of everything
 AP> increases as well.

Only by an incremental amount.  People gain more by having more
money, and lose more by having less money.  And right now, wages
are stagnant.  As a result, people are paying more for less.
Otherwise, we will have an economic depression.

Low wages hurt the poor.  That is why wages should be increased.

 AP> The poor that just had their minmum wage increased as they really gained

It has been several years since that last time the minimum wage
has been increased.  And lets not forget that not all employees
receive a minimum wage.  Some are tipped employees, receiving
an hourly wage of just barely over $2 an hour.  Truly horrible.

 AP> It's all nothing more than financial smoke and mirrors.

It is an issue of fairness.  We are a rich country.  We should not
force the poor to live in substandard (and subhuman) conditions by
refusing to allow them to earn a decent wage.

 AP> And I wonder what Switzerland is going to do once their wealth is all
 AP> redistrubuted and they run out of it?  Have anothe vote to tax everyone
 AP> $2500 a month to continue the cycle?

The Swiss will gladly make more chocolates and sell as much of it
to as many willing tourists who travel to their fair country.  And
then hold another election to raise their salary another $2500/mth.

 AP> INSANITY doesn't even begin to cover it.
