Creating a secret echo for sysops only in order to spread rumor
and gossip about others without allowing those whose characters are
being maligned to be able to defend themselves is hardly being fair.

Then show me something to praise rather than condemn.  If you
want respect, first you have to earn it.  That is the way it works.

You were the sole candidate in an election.  Nobody voted for you.
That is just a statement of fact.  Not putting you down or anything.
Not putting anybody else down, either.  Just stating a simple fact.

A new election has been called.  And seconded.  The motion is
not debatable.  You are welcome to throw your hat into the ring,
if you so desire.  You are welcome to stay out of it, if that
is your choice.  But do not blame me for the choices you make.

There are many bright and intelligent people in Fidonet.  And
also many who are not part of Fidonet, but enjoy participating.
Some are well-educated, with doctarates.  Others have a much
more limited educational background.  But all are brilliant
in their own way, and contribute much to the community we all
know as Fidonet.

If you want to expand Fidonet, the way to do that is not to
place limitations on who can have read/write access to an echo,
but rather to open the floodgates to all.

Look at it this way.  Every non-sysop is a probationary sysop.
By opening echoes to all, sysops can introduce probationary
sysops to what Fidonet is all about.  Show them the ropes, so
to speak.  Make them feel at home, wanting to be part of the
community, rather than the "us vs them" mentality that exists
now.

You can be a leader in this regard.  You can become the Bernie
Sanders of Fidonet.  Ditch the "sysops only, no read/write access
for non-sysops" bullshit, and lead the revolution to freedom!

Donald Trump said in his acceptance speech he respects a man
who puts himself on the line.  So how about it?  Are you a man,
or a mouse?

Do you seriously think Donald Trump worries about what people
say or write about him?  The more people talk, the more likely
he is to win!  Controversy sells.  Every carnival barker knows
this.

Donald Trump was all smiles after Ted Cruz' speech last night.
Donald Trump had an even bigger smile tonight.  Hardly bitter
about anything.  Now some of the other candidates might have
been bitter.  Especially that fellow from Texas ...

I have been accused of many things.  But believe me when I tell
you, balutes are nutritious.  And quite tasty.  Even without the
salt and pepper.

are quite good.  But kinda hard to find in this part of the world.
