I suspect many of them were told that if they didn't rise up and join the ranks
their families would be harmed.

This is history repeating itself... don't think for one moment that the
"crusades" were not the same thing.  Men rose up and went to Arabia for the
sold purpose of killing muslims.

Unfotunately they did not target the poor uneducated muslims.  The Islamic
culture of the time of the crusades was one of science, technology and
medicine.  We owe much of our discoveries to the muslim scientists of that
day... Algebra (the math that allowed discoveries in computers, chemistry,
physics and more) was discovered by them.  "Al-jabra mean's new math in Arabic
(I'm sure I wronged the spelling).

So who did the Crusades target?  All that was a threat to the Christian Church,
because at that time they still beleived the world was flat and everything
revolved around the earth.  They thought it was evil to dissect cadavers and
preferred prayer and leaches over the surgeries and treatments the islamics had
developed.

The crusades killed the scientists and the thinkers and when the crusades were
over the only ones that were left were the ones that were 200 years behind the
times... and never again did the islamic culture rise academically.

Now look what they are doing... targeting us because we are a threat to their
religious beliefs... and they want to "dumb us down" so that we can be equal or
easier to control.  They want to reduce our numbers so they can be the dominant
culture.

History is repeating... mark my word.
