Obviously your knowledge on the subject is limited. Your ignorance does however
not negate the fact that one can noy just "plug it in" because a NEMA plug does
not fit in a Schuko socket.

And yes, you mentioned voltage adapters, Adding that they were not used in the
cases described. You never mentioned plug-adapters.

I repeat: it could not have happened the way you describe it.

It does not bother me all that much. I am used to people making statements that
conflict with knwon facts.

Oh, BTW, you were wrong about this as well:

Typically they do NOT bring 440 Volts to the house and it is not stepped down
at the house incoming box. Tp "step down" you need a transformer and it is not
typical to have transfromers in the house.

In the US, typically the transfromer in the box in the street, or at the pole
steps the line voltage down to 220 or 230 Volt, That secundary winding of that
transformer has a center tap that is grounded. Thereby cerating a two fase
system with 230 Volts between the fases and 115 Volts between the fases and
neutral. That is brought into the house. Cerating the possibility to connect
both 15 Volt and 230 Volt appliances.

That can happen. Human memory is notoriously unreliable.

miss out on 100-108 MHz.

So you didn't see what plug was on it, nor did you see what voltage(s) it was
designed for. You just send it off without ever veryfing if it would work in
the US?
