BS> You know NOT of what you speak!

BS> You 'conveniently" forget all the time Joseph and I spent on the phone
BS> (voice), plus since you are supposed to be helping him 'learn' fidonet,
BS> he sure knows very little (as it appears, so do you), not only about
BS> fidonet, but (more importantly_ about the software he chooses to use.

The time you spent on the phone with Joseph was apparantly quite unhelpful. Not
once would you take the time to look at your logs, and not once would you check
to see why your reply netmail was never sent to him when he polled.

BS> I would strongly encourage you to lean the system properly yourself
BS> before trying to teach anyone else. You definitely owe Joseph (plus
BS> myself) an apology about how you've totally misled him in the process.

I do owe Joseph an apology, for leading him to the complete wrong person for
the task. Apparantly the rumors of the "black hole" are correct in more ways
than one!

I don't owe you a damned thing. You could have been quite a bit more helpful in
this process, yet you had some kind of "holier than thou" attitude the entire
time.

Obviously you aren't too aware of the proper way of doing things either.
Why wasn't Joseph directed to the proper NC first?

BS> Absoultely, that is if Joseph had been properly explained things.

Right. By the person he was applying to! Instead you gave him the runaround,
and screwed with him (I think even to the point where he went off on you on the
phone because he was sick of your attitude!)

So, Piss off Bob. And thanks for making it known who the dumbshit RC was that
was actually involved in this -- as I kept your name out of it.

Now that you did respond, let's pull out some logs (ignatius being Joseph and
access_d being myself in an IRC private message):

[17:54:01] <ignatius> He said he got it and it's waiting for me, than hung up.
[17:54:34] <access_d> what's waiting for you?
[17:54:46] <ignatius> A reply to the netmail I sent him.
[18:20:04] <access_d> let's get your netmail from bob.
[19:20:40] <access_d> run: binkd -P 1:140/1 /opt/binkd/etc/binkd.cfg -- this
will poll bob's system manually to retrieve the netmail reply.

[19:25:44] <access_d> might want to call him back, and tell him you polled his
system, and didn't pick up anything.
[19:30:10] <ignatius> I just called him. All I got was him on the line saying
nothing.
[19:31:07] <ignatius> This sounds crazy, but it sounded like he held a
microphone up to the phone.
[19:31:23] <access_d> you didn't say anything?
[19:31:39] <ignatius> I said "hello" a few times, and "I'm sorry"
[19:32:03] <ignatius> I was on the phone a little under a minute.

Now mind you, those begginning-of-line timestamps are my time, CST, while he is
PST (shown in his binkd logs).

So really Bob? Were you going to start breathing heavy on that last phone call
there? It's quite apparant he was polling you successfully, yet your system
wasn't sending him any netmail replies when he polled you.

He's now setup over here, and netmailed my areafix for fidonet and another
network on his own. What was the problem with your end, Bob? IIRC, you didn't
offer him _ANY_ help, either. You only tried directing him to other people, and
completely blew him off with things like "my system is downstairs." If you're
going to take on a job that's not yours in the first place, at least be helpful
to a new applicant!

Want to keep going here, Bob? I have emails from you too! While trying to email
Bob to let him know the situation, and get the information on what he required
from the applicant, here's a response I got:

NB> I will make sure he has a direct link to you for netmail, but he will
NB> probably route all other netmail through me, as well as his echomail
NB> feed, and if he wants a filefeed.

My system is a top level hub, and offers direct netmail routing into
all the other Fidonet zones, as well as the z1 regions.

[EOF]

Does that really friggin' matter? What the hell kind of response was that,
except a cocky one?

And then this one from me to you:

BS> Maybe have him contact me directly would be simplest and easiest.

Will do. I've let him know.

[EOF]

And while talking to Joseph, you referred him to JANIS, the Z1C?! Why did you
not refer him to the proper NC of your region?

Then you said:

> For the record, NO system presenting 1:140/999 polled 1:140/1 or
> 1140/0 by ANY method whatsoever since 17 Dec, 2012 which is the
> timestamp on the netmail that I wrote to you regarding your fidonet
> application.

Take a look at the damn time/date stamps above, Bob. I'm pretty sure that shows
December 19, 2012. I do, in fact, have more logged binkd sessions from his log
file after December 17th.

After all this time I suggested you check your configuration of the 1:140/999
address to make sure something wasn't wrong there. This went completely
ignored, and no further attempt was made to contact Joseph by you.

I gave it about a week, and with no reply from you, setup Joseph over here as
a point (which worked the first time he polled for the two networks he hooked
himself up to here via netmail, amazing, huh?).

I've contacted the proper NC, and Joseph is prepared to work with that NC on
getting him a node number, but doesn't care if he ever communicates with you
again. I don't blame him.

If you've gotten to the NC before me and convinced him to go along with your
immature games. I will gladly list him as a full node here in my net, just to
spite you, and only you.

Have a nice day.

Regards,
Nick
