Actually ... you are correct. The real problem is that the last decade or two
news channels in the US have gone down the drain.
 
As I explained several times before, the programming of CNN-Europe is vastly
different than it is in North America because the North American version would
not fly here.
 
Problematic is that these staions need to provide at 24hr news service and
there never can be that level of news that is of global interest to keep the
transmitters switched "on" for 24hrs, keep the people watching, keep the
sponsors happy. For that reason the North American version of CNN indeed is
crap and I will not object if you call it that way.
 
However the European edition of CNN looks like a BBC spin-off, very calm, good
language, well presented. There's nothing to compare with as there is no Fox
Europe ... I think.

1) It's BNL.ALGEMEEN
2) There is no newly appointed moderator of that echo. It has been the same
   for years
3) I am unaware it is restricted. No-one outside the Dutch language environ-
   ment has ever asked me or another person carrying it, for a link ... I
   think
4) It's amazing that a sysop-echo serving the needs of only 20 sysops would
   raise the levels of interest abroad so high.
5) Thank you for giving away the identity of the person who provides the
   oh so "secret link" BTW.
