He's an 'uncomfortable' actor for me.  Mostly for the characters he's had to
work on/with, probably.  I do have two movies of his that I do enjoy, often:
Crack in the World - 1965, and, The Best Years of Our Lives - 1946.

Pity, that.  It's an entertainment staple in this household, both the movie and
the album.  Even my two girls pump-up the volume when it's playing, if they're
around the house.  (That, and the 'War of the Worlds' album.)

(I think you meant to say "did notice".)  Yes, you're correct.  It only
mentions some connection with "prunes" as a rhyming lyric.  I can't recall the
movie title they quoted.  It's on the Austar box upstairs, so I can't check it
out right now.  Oh, well.  Wait-up... I have a music vid of the 'Science
Fiction' lip-synch prologue of the flick.  I can't detect any movie title. 
And, no, no mention of his gender.

Yes, a bit of both.  When in doubt I do 'a Google'.
