The above reminds me of something we learned in grade school over here.  The
teacher would tell a story to a student in the front row of the class and that
student would then have to relate the story to the student to their right or
left, depending on which side of the room the story began and by the time that
story got to the last student, it was unrecognizable.  I was nine years old and
in the fourth grade.
