I already figured that out a year ago when I saw some messages from your Baby
Glacier with similar errors. I had a similar problem with Rosa's machine after
I installed a German version of XP on it. By default it installed assuming a
German keyboard. Adding a "Dutch" keyboard *1) and making it selectable was not
all that hard, but it would revert to the German keyboard by every change of
window. This is annoying for someone used to typing blind. On a German keyboard
- among other things - the 'B' and 'V' and the 'Z' and 'Y' are reversed.

It took me much longer to configure it for Dutch by default. Don't ask me how
did it, it was three years ago, it is one of those "install and forget" things.


*1) I call it "Dutch keyboard" but it really isn't. It is a standard US
(international) keyboard. It is the driver that makes it to "Dutch" by
converting some keys to dead keys for typing umlauted and accented characters.
F.e. pressing the key for the single qoute character followed by the key for
'a' produces an accented a: ' '. It is my inderstanding that Sweden use the
same keyboard.

There have been "real" Dutch keyboards. They had dedicated keys for some
"Dutch" character like the Guilder symbol and the concatenated 'ij'. The
concatenated 'ij' has disappeared from the computer scene. It is not present in
any of the CPxxx code pages. Everyone writes it as the two character sequence
'ij' now. It may reappear some day, there is a code point for it in unicode.

The Guilder symbol 'Ÿ' is character number 159 in CP453 and CP850, but that is
history...

Of course someone who has never had to deal with anything other than US English
and the standard US keyboard and who never had a need for anything other than
the US ASCII character set would not know about such problems and attribute
"infor;qtion" instead of "information" to just a typo...
