dude! golded only works on systems where it can read the message bases! it is
possible that there are some systems, i presonally know of several, that golded
cannot read... then there's the fact that the UI is quite undesirable by
some... i, for one, don't like it and i know many many many others who also
don't like it... it is much the same for TimED, too... i've still several
friends who refuse to use anything other than the DOS D'Bridge interface for
reading and replying to messages... those same folk also refuse to move to
anything else other than d'bridge... some of them even refuse to move to the
newest versions!

in any case, the world is not all wrapped up in one solution... if it were,
everyone would be flying in the same airplanes, driving the same cars, buying
the same computers, running m$ software and a whole host of other things that
folk do differently because they can and want to...

personally? unless golded has changed a huge amount than what it was 10 years
ago, i won't even take a look at it... i prefer my TimED (original versions
written by Gerard van Essen, the original author) or FrontDoor's FM written by
joho homrighausen and mats wallin... and if i'm not using their stuff? i'm
using my own self-written stuff which is highly proprietary to me and my
setup...

so please, back off of those folk who use the software they have at hand...
hell, for that matter, be glad that there are still some who actually read and
write their messages in their BBS! BBS' are, after all, what started fidonet
and what fidonet is all about... aren't they?? :?
