no... what i was speaking of was the original stuff that was started years ago
that seemed to put some kind of a box around the quoted stuff rather than
converting to what we consider standard with blah> in front of it...

yeah... but is a bitch to try to read in other formats :?

what i was speaking of, here, is that the phpbb stuff simply doesn't have a
place for it... not in the same way we think about it... remember, it isn't
just the message body and sender that is important to us FTN implementers...
for instance, how/where are you going to pull netmail info from if you want to
make a private reply to a public message on the other side of the forum? the
way it stands now, it simply cannot be done...

i know the feeling... i've started, 5 or 6 times to try to re-work the phpbb
message bases to conform more to what we FTN implementors want/need... so far,
it just hasn't been worth the effort... especially with no recognition and,
indeed, active opposition to one for many things that they have backed in the
past...

oh well... i'll just suck it up and do things for me and the rest can simply do
without... and all this because some get someone's use of language and
terminology stuck in their craw... oh well... eff'em... let them and their
politics screw the rest of the community as they have been all these years,
behind everyone's backs...
