After this invitation, I'll try to answer some of your questions.

Honestly? I was asked by Michiel whether I'd like to candidate. So the question
might be, why do I believe he asked me? Obviously because I contributed IPv6
code to BinkD -- otherwise I assume only few have noticed me.

Anyway, I still do care about Fidonet ... and I do care about the software used
in Fidonet -- I am using some myself.

I was born in 1980, finished my studies in technical computer science in 2004
and I am working for a larger Telco equipment vendor. I'm node in Fidonet since
1995. I've also been active in other FTNs which largely died ages ago. I've
been programming smaller and larger tools around Fidonet for myself and for a
smaller public. I do not remember anymore for how long I am now elected
NC2:2411, but it's more than 10 years. Although this small network was formed
out of political reasons I have little interests in Fidonet politics. I rather
try to work with facts. I do hope that I won't be alone with this attitude.

Authoring documentation is part of my daily work. I am well familiar with
reading formal specification (IETF, 3GPP, ETSI, ..., FTSC :). As (or despite
the fact that?) I am not a native English speaker, I usually try my best to
write in a clear and simple way -- technical documentation is not meant to be
fiction.

Being a programmer (or hacker if you so like) I prefer to express myself in
code first. I believe documenting the result is about "current practice",
right? =:)

Taking the fact that I do not see an enormous amount of new development around
Fidonet technology, I don't believe there are huge heaps of undocumented
things. To be honest, I have little idea what to contribute ... but the job is
also about reviewing existing documentation and updating it if necessary.
You may read this as: "No concrete plans."
