SL> @PATH 712/848 5020/545 46/50 123/500 140/1

Still Z2 which is fine as it works. See netmail as i got one today then added
in everyone who may be related and sent back what seemed wise to me.

CS> things up right, we've narrowed the feed issue to between Ross and
 CS> Malcolm?

SL> It might still be Ross.. I still haven't received any routed mail in F
SL> (which comes via Dale and then Ross again) either.

I added Ross Cassell and Dale Ross to that netmail. It was one I wasnt in but
showed a snippet of a quote on tracking. The term 'Ross' can be slightly
confusing as you might mean Dale Ross or Ross Cassell. My 'Ross' above was
Ross Cassell.

Both BTW are excellent technicians at mail moving. Once advised of a problem,
both act quickly and effectively.

I do not have any netmail from you but am unsure what path any routed
'outbound' your netmail may take. I can guess it is malcolm who probably
sends to Janis. If you outbound netmail for Z6 nodes to Barry, it would I am
pretty sure go from Barry to Bob Seaborn.

Grin, comes to mind maybe one of these days one of us should write up how this
stuff actually works and what the good-bad-ugly are about it. In fact, I did
a few articles in Fidonews years ago that kinda help out a bit. Our existing
FTSC docs that I have seen, are either so 'high brow I cant follow them' or do
not explain such in ways relevant to the average person. I recall we started
a sort of almost 'FAQ' set. Good chance what I am thinking of would belong
there. Reasonable chance I can get help adding verbage to it from quite a
few.

SL> But it's christmas so...

CS> Ross has the echo active obviously (have not seen the
CS> private echo yet today so am not able to say if you've posted there
CS> yet. If not, post a test and I will reply to let you know it got out
 CS> ok).

SL> I posted a roll call message yesterday, after Ross said he'd fixed his
SL> link to Dale.

I will check. Like many, I kinda took a break Xmas Eve and Xmas day. Its the
26th for us both but Xmas day for many others still. Me, I think wait a day
or so and (for all) once it kicks over, we might get a few dups here. No
biggies. Once your own outbound come back at you, you'll fix it fast and our
traffic isnt high enough that we wil cause any problems.

CS> Did you get the crossposted extract of one on HTML? It wasnt the full
CS> proposition but it looked interesting.

SL> I got up to the Introduction. Interesting, but I'll definately need t
SL> see more before deciding whether a dozen new schemes (the bit before t
SL> colon) is a good thing or not.

Dunno but it sounded good first look. I'd like to see lots of discussion on it
once we can get a fuller view. I had only that extract he posted to me. It
had no more than I sent you.

At sea, my OLR truncates messages but that one wasnt any place near long enough
to bother TG and i got it at home so it's all there was he sent.

CS> major UNIX type geek, way over my head level. Knows next to nothing
CS> of Fidonet politics which is good as it will balance the others who
 CS> know a little too much ;-)

CS> The guy's been running a fidonet point and/or BBS for about 10 years
CS> now, with only the barest shreds of any of our normal BBS software.
CS> He's scripted his own stuff to mimic it's standards and runs a cable
CS> (or is it now WiFi?) over next door to his neighbor with streaming
CS> video and other stuff. Now looking at HTTP feeds to him for Fidonet.
CS> Has FTP running over there fine and used to have him running as a
 CS> point off him <g>.

SL> Anyone that can write his own implementation of Fidonet technology wit
SL> wanting to jump off a cliff is my hero ;)

Hehe same here. I have yet to ask him. Folks who know me well, can guess who
it is. I wil refrain from saying his name here though as i do not know if he
wants in and dont want folks bugging him if he doesnt.

Guy has run as a point off me at past times for years and was able to dual
point (adresses and all were perfect as in 'multi-zone-othernet' type but all
with Fidonet. He stayed a pojnt until we could figure out how to get his
sytem to send netmail format (that took a bit longer to script up). He was
nodelisted for a bit then drifted back to point just now because there is no
local net anymore.

Wulf who desires in is very acceptable to me if you need a sponsoring member.
If i can sponsor 2 at the same time, I will happily suggest a long time friend
of mine as well <G>. Just be prepared for major geek level unix talk and not
all that familiar with husky development (I just gave him the right tag_name).

I am guessing, but I think if you say 'packages' he's going to mentally
associate with something completely different than you and others might mean.
I think when he says 'libraries' you might meet minds. His knowledge of WIN
is negative (though not abusive) and somewhat minimal due to just seeing it as
something other people run and of no fun for him. It's nit just 'undicovered
country' but one he has no interest in exploring.

Shucks, sorry for the hard sell. Cant help it.

                                       xxcarol
