Once, a long time ago, there was a Z6 pointlist. It was included with the Z2
pointlist. Disappeared years ago...

Still, FidoNet was evne further down the slope by then. Plus there were
alternatives - preconfigured point packages - in *dutch*.Bekive it or nit but
many peope still prefer something with documentation in their native language.

Right. Net 500 was the first net outside Northern America and it was sponsored
by the HCC. (Hobby Compouter Club) Not ony did it sponsor the net itself, it
also sponsored the TipTop link with Z1 (Randy Bush). I once was the cosysop of
the R28 TipTop gate (2:28/777).

Pointing was introduced here early in the game - 1989 or so - and ot was
heavily promoted within net 500. Henk Wevers wrote a trimmed down version of
his Dutchie mailer and points in net 500 had special privileges not given to
users.

When Fidonet expanded and more nets were created, the success of pointing
carried over to the new nets.

  ... that ends today's history lesson.. ;-)
