Hello All.

This fellow was a meat cutter in the Bronx.  One night, he took his cat to work
with him, since he worked all night by himself, and the cat stayed at home by
himself.

Everything went very well through-out the night; the cat found a warm spot to
watch his master do his work, and when it came time for the dinner break, the
meat cutter took some extra chicken parts and quickly cooked them on a
hot-plate in the market, just for that purpose.

The cat enjoyed his treats, and, as cats do, started grooming himself, and soon
fell fast asleep in his little warm perch.

On towards the end of the shift, the meatcutter had to go into the freezer to
get a side of beef, and unknown to him, the little cat followed him into the
freezer.  Upon choosing the side of beef that he wanted, the meatcutter went
back to the cutting room, shutting the freezer door tightly behind him, not
knowing the cat was trapped inside.

After a couple of hours, the meatcutter began to miss his cat, and began
looking for him frantically.   Finally, he found the little cat, frozen solid,
inside the freezer.  The meatcutter was broken hearted.  He grabbed up the cat,
and headed for the 24 hour vet clinic down the street, leaving the bucher shop
wide open.

Upon getting his precious cat to the vet, the vet pronounced him dead.  The
meatcutter, being a very large fellow, was in tears, and demanding that the vet
do something, the vet figured out he'd better do something or the meatcutter
would cut him to little bits.

Suddenly, he had an idea.  Running out to his car, he siphoned about half a
pint of gas out of the tank, brought it back in, and poured it down the cat's
throat.

The cat leaped up, ran around the room several times, ran down the hall,
through the waiting room, and back into the exam room, where he collapsed.

The meatcutter was amazed.  "Well, Doc", he said, "what does this mean?"

The doctor chose his words very carefully, since the meatcutter was such a
large fellow, and explained to him, "I hate to keep telling you, but your cat
is dead.  He froze to death.  A tragic accident, for sure, but there is no
doubt."

"But what about what happened?", asked the meatcutter.  "He jumped up, ran
around, and came back and collapsed.  Why did that happen?"

The doctor answered, "Sir, I'm sorry, but your little friend is dead.  AND,
he's run out of gas......"
