                     it is always bragged down_under that any-body in the
                     state of the u.s. is rich and can get anything  they

Victoria, Canada -- A new cookbook has been judged too hot for sale
aboard B.C. Ferries vessels.

Scrambled Brains:  A Cooking Guide for the Reality Impaired has been
yanked from ferry shelves after an alert ferry worker noticed the
cookbook contains a number of recipes calling for the use of marijuana.

The book was ruled to be controversial "or could be construed as
controversial," Ferries spokesman Clay Suddaby said Thursday.

The Crown corporation's non-controversial policy has been invoked once
before.

In 1994, a complaint about Guy to Goddess, a book about drag queens, was
briefly pulled but reinstated.

Suddaby said B.C. Ferries would reconsider its position on the latest
book but has not heard serious objections.

The decision is up to B.C. Ferries, said Blain Kyllo of the book's
publisher, Arsenal Pulp Press.

"Our job is to put out interesting books, not to tell them how to run
their bookstore," he said.
