  Does a crowded elevator smell different to a midget?

  Have you ever wondered whether the building (and the world) go down
when we take the elevator "up" to a higher floor?

  How come in elevators they have a button that reads 'Press for
Emergency'? Why would anyone want an emergency when they are riding in an
elevator?

  How come the elevator always comes after you have put down whatever you
were carrying?

  How do they get the elevator into the elevator shaft?

  If elevate and escalate both mean to raise up why do elevators and
escalators go down as well?

  If you were in an elevator and the cable snapped could you save
yourself from dying by jumping up at the last second?

  In Hong Kong the signs in elevators read 'WHEN there is a fire do not
use the lifts'. Do they know something that we don't? Are fires a regular
occurance in every building?

  We call moving stairs going up an escalator and moving stairs going
straight an automated sidewalk.  So why do we still call moving stairs
going down an escalator?  Shouldn't it be a descendor?

  What happens if you put a slinky on an escalator?

  When an elevator is illegally overloaded with passengers who is
criminally responsible?

  When you go to use the elevator in your apartment building why is it
never on your floor?

  Why are elevators in the UK called 'lifts'? Don't they also go down?

  Why are there signs about using the stairs in case of fire...posted in
the elevators?

  Why do elevators always travel in groups?

  Why do passengers on elevators constantly rearrange their positions as
people get on and off so there is at all times an equal distance between
all bodies?

  Why do people believe that pushing an elevator button several times
will make the car come quicker?

  Why do people look at the door when they're in an elevator?

  Why do people need to be 'guaranteed' that they won't be stuck in an
elevator come Jan. 1 2000 when there is no guarantee that they won't be
stuck there at any other time including right now?

  Why do people press the elevator button more than once when they are in
a hurry?

  Why do people whisper in elevators?

  Why do they insist on putting up those signs that say "In case of fire
do not use elevator"? Wouldn't most people try to use water rather than
an elevator?

  Why do they put those little stickers on escalators that read
Passengers Only? Who else will be using them?

  Why does the Otis Elevator Company in Albany NY only have one floor?

  Why don't people talk in elevators?

  Why is it that the guy who comes up behind you while you're waiting for
an elevator presses the already lit button? Does he think he has magical
powers that you didn't have when you pressed the button in the first
place?

  Why is it that when you're riding in an elevator it always stops at
every floor but nobody gets on or off?

  Why is it that whenever people try to leave an elevator other people
are so desperate to get in that they block the way out?
