C>-> So says you. None of your opinions have anything to do with you
C>-> losing your domain. There are other details missing which you
C>-> aren't telling us. Libeling Network Solutions won't make up for
C>-> your inability to maintain control of your account.

C>Nope, not says me. Did you bother to read the reports? Oh silly me, of
C>course you didn't.

C>But here's some for others who are willing to look at the truth

Truth ? You've still provided no details on how this event happened.
I've dealt with Network Solutions for many years, longer than you, with
hundreds of domains and have never had an issue like this.

I've dealt with squatters, Internet bullies, trademark challenges,
foreign governments and much more. I've never lost control of a domain
nor ever heard of anyone having an issue with Network Solutions like
this, as you claim. I've wrestled a number of domains away from folks
who shouldn't have owned them, including one fine fella in Korea who
wanted $1M to give up a domain he was squatting on.

C>http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/04/08/network-solutions-hijacking-unass
C>igned-sub -domains/

This article makes no sense and is not the same as what you claim
happened. The author of this article obviously doesn't know what a
subdomain is.

I'll help you out, since I doubt you do either. Let's use my domain as
an example.

I have thebinks.com registered. A subdomain might be jeff.thebinks.com
. There is no way for Network Solutions to register that subdomain. In
fact, without the ability to see the DNS zonefile you can't tell whether
it is a dotted hostname or a subdomain but regardless, I own hebinks.com
and everything under it. Network Solutions, nor any registry service
can go past a period. In fact, even if they attempted to, I would still
own DNS for the higher level domain and the DNS NS delegation would
always come to me, regardless of what they registered. I would just
chose not to resolve jeff.thebinks.com to their servers.

You welcome to try and register this subdomain at Network Solutions.
See if it will let you register jeff.thebinks.com and get back to me.

C>http://www.cyan-editorial.co.uk/singlerapid/issue2/front-running.htm

Nothing wrong with this whatsoever. You could argue it is a form of
squatting but they aren't scalping the domains, unless you think $34.99
is outrageous. If so, I suggest you get out of the business. Actually,
having dealt with this in the real world where millions of dollars are
at stake, they are doing folks a favor.

C>http://voices.allthingsd.com/20080227/paul-2/

This will get tossed as a nuisance lawsuit.

C>What they do isn't illegal but it is unethical and just plain slimy.

I always love it when a liberal talks about ethics.

C>And no, there is nothing else to tell. The domain was there one day
C>and the next when I tried to login to my blog application, the domain
C>was gone. I had year to run on my registration, with automatic renewal
C>on my credit card so it should not have gone anywhere.

Sorry, that doesn't add up. Where did it go and who transferred it ?
There is more to this story.

C>Unlike the other domains they hijacked, mine did not show up for
C>resale for 2 years. I had registered with aftermarket watch and got
C>an email every week telling me that it was not available. When it was,
C>I got it back.

Who hi-jacked it ? You've still not given any more details on who hi-
jacked it. For it to be hi-jacked, someone had to own it. If Network
Solutions supposedly hi-jacked it, it was likely for nonpayment and they
would have simply turned it back on when you paid them. I did miss a
payment once on a domain, about 15 years ago, and they turned it right
back on when I renewed my registration. Now I go 5 years at a time.

C>Like I said, now I pay extra for protection against it happening
C>again. I don't need the union website getting 'lost', or the oil
C>company's, or the publishing house's, or the smaller businesses I
C>serve.

Why would you own a domain for another company ? They should own it and
you should just be one of the contacts. It isn't your trademark,
service mark or DBA to own.

When I ran my ISP business my customers all owned their domains and we
were just the technical contact. Up until now I have only slightly
doubted your competence. Now I am beginning to fully question it.
