I lost count of the times when someone says something less than favorable
about Mohammed where Muslims come out into the streets and vow revenge.
American born Muslims are not quite the same, but the point still stands.
Christians take it on the chin all the time about their religion yet they
are not out in the streets screaming for the death of anyone.

Whoa..  No call for that sort of thing. I'm not the one attacking the 
'belief' of anyone, nor am I vowing blood thirsty revenge.
Suggest you look into your own heart after making a statement like that 
my friend.

Indeed.  Just look at much of the Muslim world in the mid east, today.

Much much higher than it is for Christians. Christians don't blow each 
other's churches up.    Btw..  1% of 1 billion is 10 million.
Now connect that dot with the ones in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq
and Afghanistan...and our unsecured borders.
Behold the not so pretty picture.

The point being avoided here is that most of today's so called 
'progressive' attitides, or the 'new attitude' is too often born of
scorn, is often provoked and in turn fostered without too much cerebral 
intervention and is  often directed and wielded without much compassion 
involved as well.

Sometimes sweeping statements are appropriate.  Sometimes.

Thanks.  But at the same time people too often equate an open mind with 
blind acceptance for everyone and everything.


Try the open mind on this idea. All things are not equal.  Yes, we have 
equal rights, but as cultures and societies go, they are not.  This idea 
that 'everything is equal' is just crowd please rhetortic politicians and
activists use to gain public appeal/support.

Any part of which you feel you're capable of.

I was just told by our good friend, in so many words, that religious people 
are not independent thinkers.  But when this individual is asked how he 
arrived at the idea of 'no god' by means of his 'independent thinking' all 
I get is his.. arf! arf! arf!  When asked about his thoughts concerning 
the emergence of intelligent/ordered life from water and dirt, all I get 
is oink! oink! oink!   

   Atheists base their idea of 'no god' only on the inability to prove God 
exists through conventional science, nothing more.   Mean while they ignore 
the ordered universe/world and the creation of life all around them...not
to 
mention the inner workings of their own hearts and minds and how they
interaxct with other people and events, the likes of which 'scientists', 
who can't even explain gravity, are still baffled.
'Real' independent thinking.
