At the moment I have it scripted but it doesn't create anything other than the
actual message.  That part works great and all that would be needed right now
is to archive it in the same format as the tossed inbound, which is also pure
ascii and on line per message.  That makes it really easy to figure out how
many messages are in a stored file as well as do reformatting if desirable. 
The tossing scheme only uses readily available apps (sed and dd) whereas the
outbound requires the extra app to handle the binary header part which isn't in
the local archives at all.  Thus as is a bash scripted vim can handle it all as
far as the local schene is concerned, including kludges which are created by
the bash script itself.

So far I haven't found a better way and any other text editor should work with
the scheme just fine.

This is definetly a linux client so it will work out.  At the moment I have
three boxes going, two ttylinux based, and all are 100% linux.  My workstation
is getting most of the attention lately but once I am happy I plan to dedicate
more time to the wireless server thingy.  Should be soon.
