Using ogg format, you get slightly bigger files, which sound way better than 
any mp3 bitrate version, only bettered by flac format ... , I only rip to ogg 
here, but I have a lot of mp3's contributed by others, for which I have yet to 
aquire the original CD's to rip to ogg ... , a real pain to sort thru them, 
and weed out the low bitrate, ones, and those that where ripped while doing 
something else on a win32 box,  with the unfortunate side effect, that they 
had "drop outs' in the sound, i.e. where there is no music, or just noise, 
caused by a lack of CPU cycles ...

A bit expensive, but also, nowhere near as expensive as other cards, I'd 
appreciate are the RME HDSP 9652 Hammerfall DSP, RME Digi96/8 Pro , Lynx 
AES16, Digital Audio Labs CardDeluxe or possibly one of these, a Echo Indigo 
IO CardBus, ...

To plug in a turntable, you are going to need a riaa phono stage as well, 
unless they provide a "digital" software one to wotk with the signal fron the 
turn table ... , I'll settle for the Audiophile 192, as it has enough 
inputs/outputs, one for my normal amp, and another for my headphone amp ... , 
all I need really ...
