If I just want to output something I happen to have a samll character
*serial-watchamacallit handy.  I doubt it would attract many crows though.

I have a never-used tft screen meant for a laptop but I think it needs 19VDC
and I lack the silly wiring/plugs it requires, as well as schematics to
possibly make a suitable adapter to the 15-pin vga port.  I forget who made it
but it seems to me it was meant for an IBM or comparable laptop back around the
time they were using P1's or the first MMX jobbers. C&T graphics controllers if
my guesstimation is accurate.  Beats me if it works but it should. 
Unfortunetly the voltage is a tad much for this particular evil demented plan.

Hm.  That sounds familiar and I may have run across something very simular, if
not exactly, to that in Nanaimo somewhere.  Next time I am there I'll have to
have a looksee in the usual places.  Hopefully it is low wattage.  The one I
asked about advertizes under 8W.  That sounds appealing.

You're right.  My mistake, it is actually a converter with four DC outputs and
a couple straight AC passthru's that I am ignoring.  It has a builtin charger
for the battery which converts AC to DC.  If the grid goes down then the
battery is on it's own and as we speak, I only have a couple of things wired
into the DC outputs, the Atom being one of them. No inverter.

Under.  There is no room for it on the bench.
