Hey, I guard my $3.02 cents with my life ;-)
I need the online banking to get stuff delivered as opposed
to trying to get someplace.

This home website setup, my site, is a PITA.
They have a Flash based template that's gotta go.
No Flash on my site!

I trust when I'm a bit more adept I'll beat it into submission.
I've gotten on with lftp and navigated about a bit but just a little more
knowledge acquisition required.
Don't help, I'm almost there!


Now I want to remove Sea Monkey and GoodleEarth, both GUIs
that take up a LOT of space.

I do want Open office for compatibility with MSWord and Word Perfect ect.
but just the tarball is over 1/2G and untarring that left me with 2
percent of /hda1

I'm thinking about just rm -R * from seamonkey as found from whereis
Same for GoogleEarth.
I'll have to look into those directories to make sure I don't break anything
else.
Also check to see if there's an uninstall binary.
Plus the .whatever.conf files to be rm'ed

I'll google for that info.
I do that a lot not seeing the cause to keep reinventing the wheel.

Now I'm giving thought to 64 bit.
CompUSA has some pretty good barebones computer deals.
My local computer shop recommends Biostar as it dual boots Linux and 
Windows which many of his clients insist on having Windows.

I'm thinking as long as they're intel chipsets and Nvidea onboard
video there should be no problems.
I'm thinking of an AMD 64 bit CPU though on a Biostar motherboard.

Ray thorpe at www.raccomputers.com says he has had only a very rare
return and he's got his own version of Linux, Phoenix I think he said
that's made converts out of former Windows users. 

Once again, I'll just google for: Linux, motherboard_name and problems
to see if I should anticipate problems.

If necessary I'll go with an Intel motherboard as I do like their quality  
but costs there present a problem.
Especially in the 64 bit boards.

In my google researches I had heard Asus had become less Linux 
friendly whereas before they were very compliant.

I still don't use flash memory nor USB but I did save Sheri Smarts
software driver for Linux USB 3.0 instructions :-)
Once THAT USB 3.0 hardware card is out I'll be using it a lot.
