Since toying with the argument at boot, vesafb seems scared off. I may have
booted to a different kernel when I first posted, however. Until I offload my
Fido chores to a different rig, I'm content to mess with the Matrox little.
(lilo still complains about the device-mapper, but "One warning" isn't going to
keep me up at night, so long as it gets the job done.)
