Hello Maurice.

19 Sep 09 12:47, you wrote to me:

Well, you have better hardware than most I know for the task, not that that is
a great motivational reason but ... :-)

Good enough eitherway ...

 >> All that will be required of it is to run FireFax

MK> Huh? FireFox? Is the above a typo?

Nope Minion, a client/controler program for MPD runs well from firefox ...

For myself, ssh and mpc or ncpmc work more than well enough ...

MK> Same here. I see the pci card at an online store across the Strait.

Which pci card is that, as far as I can tell, the pci card and rack unit are
sold as a unit, and not seperately ...

 MK> Just the good stuff.

Then it is "good enough" ... , not that I am mad about the term "good enough"
but ...

 >> Well once one "setup" works, adding the extra's is very easy

 MK> Famous last words. ;-)

:-))

 >> Ubuntu is a reasonable distro, as far as distro's go ...

MK> I wouldn't know. From my understanding I am not in their target

Nope, but it does have it's place in the sun, ... :-)

Does yours use the 1712 driver or the 1724 driver ... ?

MK> You mean when whatever distributions catch on that they're doing it

 MK> Yeah probably ... eventually.

To quote another bloke I know, "with Linux, there is always hope" <VVBG>
