WHat he's never going to believe is that the BIOS chip on the Nvidia 
card is just for that card and has nothing to do with the motherboard 
bios.  A more likely cause of his issue was a conflict between the 
onboard video chipset and the NVDIA card.  Disabling the onboard video 
(if the BIOS supports it) is often the fix.  Either way, much of what he
is saying that happened is not believable without seeing more evidence 
of what actually happened.  THe part that is believable is that the 
video BIOS starts up before the other portions of the system board BIOS.  
If that were not the case then there would be no video to see.  

In 20+ years of working on computers, I've never seen a video card 
corrupt an MBR on a hard drive (not without something else being 
misconfigured in the system).
