Until you use an add-in IDE controller, (/dev/hde) I think the built-in
controllers will only go as fast as one Direct Memory Access will allow. The
second DMA might speed things up, is my point. I could very well be mistaken.
I've had my head so buried in SCSI...

4096x3072? (How's the math?) I only study the specs after I cart one home from
auction, so I can't quote what's out there, but that seems unattainable to me
unless if you shop at the same store as ILM. You might scale back to double?
That still seems a rather high spec, but might be more reasonable. I run - I
think - 1600x800, whatever:

Gets me. Besides the dust bunnies and the skid mark, I have yet to need to
reduce the resolution.

That's the file permissions issue I'm having, is with a DOS Max BBS, but
because I dial in with a POTS modem...
