Not really.
The local dealer two blocks away uses a warehouse that stocks all sorts
of the kind of rock solid standard parts like this machine uses.

Where do you suppose I got the RAM and power supply from?
20 - 24 pin dual power pin arrangement so I merely slid the last four 
pins off the molex connector just as it's designed to do.

I can even snag an entire later model IBM for a mere $50 dollars.
Hard drive and CD-ROM included, a tad more for a DVD - CD-ROM burner.

Gateways he sells for a good bit more but I imagine now that 64 bit is here
they'll drop in price significantly as well.

What people are asking in the Saint Petersburg Times classifieds is
NUTS compared to what I can slap together a white box or buy second
hand from the local dealer two blocks away. 

Of course the systems advertised in the Times are invaribly Windows boxes,
yet another strike against them.
