I saw a pretty sweet deal today in the paper.

A Gateway Pentium 4 with all the bells and whistles for 180 all
included.

Fairly new box and the 512M of RAM upgradable to 2 or 4 Gig, I forget which
but more than plenty for Slackware.

A really nice thing about Gateways beside the quality is they maintain
ALL the specifications for each model on their support site, even down
to each specific machine as shipped should you still have the serial number.

Again, a nice standard ATX full tower.

Still that's only $30 short of upgrading this box to a 64 bit dual core
AMD.

It's nice to have options though and Slackware has them in spades :-)

If this box blows in the next two months, unlikely, I pop
for a $50 dollar somewhat later model IBM that also fits PC133
memory.

That's three ways to go, $50, $180 and $210 and at that
I'm in no particular rush :-)
