The first line up there was specifically about KDE4. So somewhere in this
conversation you completely changed the subject without my knowing. :)

Definitely one nice thing about Linux. You can build your system however you
want it, and upgrade only what you want to upgrade (with most distros anyways,
*buntu and stuff like that that's put together as one system don't really
comply with that vision, though).

Well, you're running WinME-2 now, right? You said you ran a few Vista machines,
no?

Agreed. That's the way my server machine is here as well. My desktop, however..
I don't mind having all the bells and whistles of a new distro with the latest
packages. If my i5-650 is unable to handle what a newer distro has to offer
(I'm sure it will be awhile, lol), I'll demote it to a next server machine, and
get a newer one for my desktop. No way am I going to have 8+ machines parked
all over my house. With two young ones running around here, it's messy enough.
