i won't because i see no way for anyone to come up with that...

you need to be more specific as to exactly what configuration page you were
looking at...

dropbear? i think you have me confused with someone else... i have no idea what
dropbear is...

this is one thing and has nothing to do with freenas at all... the problem i
was having that yuo are trying to remember was using putty to access one of my
debian based boxen via ssh...

 MK> However I lack a javascript web

ummm... the main GUI pages of freenas are php... yes, there may be some
javascript items used but it is not all javascript... one can also access th
enas via html and not be trying to use the admin interface... some users prefer
to use a web GUI for uploading and downloading their files... if the nas is not
located on their network, this may be their only option... especially if FTP is
restricted or denied on their systems by corporate or network policy...

i still don't know what dropbear is or what i would want it for... sorry...

ml> GPT is what they use

MK> Understood. I don't use GPT. ext2 for flash disks.

evidently you don't know what GPT is, either... you can use ext2 on GPT or MBR
based disks ;)

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table

[quote]
GUID Partition Table (GPT) is a standard for the layout of the partition table
on a physical hard disk, using globally unique identifiers (GUID). Although it
forms a part of the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) standard
(Unified EFI Forum proposed replacement for the PC BIOS), it is also used on
some BIOS systems because of the limitations of MBR partition tables, which use
32 bits for storing logical block addresses and size information.

As of 2010, most current operating systems support GPT. Some, including OS X
and Microsoft Windows, only support booting from GPT partitions on systems with
EFI firmware, but FreeBSD and most Linux distributions can boot from GPT
partitions on systems with either legacy BIOS firmware interface or EFI.
